Star Trek 3 has been off to a rough start in production as one of the original writers of the scripts signed off, leaving Simon Pegg to step in to aid in penning the script for the third film. The film, set to be released in 2016 (July 8) has yet to begin filming with director Justin Lin (known for his work on Fast and Furious 6) at the helm. (A ship joke… see what I did there?)
But now, On Location Vacations has reported that filming is rumored to begin April 15, 2015 in Vancouver, British Columbia. There were previous rumors that some filming would occur in South Korea, but confirmations one way or another have yet to be heard.
With the film’s script still in development, there are few plot points that can be shared, but the rumors continue to fly – more female characters, a “Bryan Cranston-like” villain, etc. But fans can hope that filming truly will begin in short order and more will be revealed in due time as 2016 approaches.
